Our company

SEMA Systems is an Italian Tech company that focuses on Advanced Electronics to enable Precise Diagnostics for Train Sub-Systems, and is specialized in Automatic Fire Detection and Suppression systems.
We also develop systems for Lighting, Doors, ATO/ATP interface, Passenger Announcement, Passenger Information Systems, CCTVs, and others.

  • Our team has over 30 years of experience with developing advanced electronics for Rail & Metro, having built systems for Regional trains, Metros, High Speed trains, Locomotives running in Italy, Switzerland, Poland, and India.
  • We design for Rail, and then adapt our solutions to other industries.
  • We are in constant evolution and have State-of-the-Art technology. Practical innovation, with the objective of meeting customer needs, is at the core of how we operate. We have a multi-decade experience in delivering solutions to the Rail & Metro segment, with some unique industry features such as “Decentralized FDS”, “CO Sensors”, “Intelligent Aerosol”, “Miniaturizing Nozzles”, “LHD sensors on RS485 bus”, among others. 
  • We have in-house Regulatory expertise for EN50155 Type Tests, EN50126 (RAMS Analysis), EN50128, EN50129, UNI11565:2021 among others allows us to design systems that will comply with required standards.
  • Our locations are in Milan (Italy) and Greater Delhi (India).

TEAM

  • Our Team is based in Italy and India and is growing rapidly.
  • Top Management has previous experience working with companies including Ansaldo Breda (Hitachi), SAIRA Electronics, FIAT Automobiles, Gammon Engineering, LS Fire, General Electric, McKinsey, and Lazard among others.
  • Our Engineering team has a diverse skill-set across Hardware, Software, Mechanical, and System which allows us to maintain complete control on our designs. Designing ourselves gives us a lot of control on the components we can use. This enables us to offer high-quality customized solutions in a cost-effective manner. 
  • Our Servicing team is equipped to provide Installation, Commissioning and After-sales support including Maintenance and Spare Parts. Our team has extensive experience with maintenance of trains and fault analysis, which enables us to design for real world problems.
Vinod Sahai

Businessman, Board Member, Advisor to private and listed companies in Italy and India, including FIAT, Franco Tosi, Finmeccanica, Saira, Gammon Infrastructure Projects, and others; 45+ years professional experience across Italy and India; past President of India Business Forum. He has a Master in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and a Post-Graduate Degree from the Politecnico di Torino.

Chetan Sahai

Chetan is an Entrepreneur and the CEO of SEMA Systems since April 2021. He is responsible for overall strategy and performance of the business. He brings 20+ years of experience in building companies, products and markets. Chetan has held leadership roles at GE Capital, after being an investment banker at Lazard and Co. and a management consultant at McKinsey & Company. He has worked in Italy, India, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States.  He holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor of Commerce  from Universita' Bocconi.

Armando Iaquinangelo

Industry veteran, Systems Engineer and Inventor, Armando has a deep knowledge of Rail & Metro, Advanced Electronics, Train Maintenance, Mechatronics. He is a Member of  the UNI11565 committee. Armando is responsible for  Innovations and Engineering. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano.
